Lash Lift FAQs

  1. What is Elleebana Lash Lift?
The Elleebana Lash Lift is a semi-permanent treatment that gives your natural lashes an illusion of perfectly curled lashes with added definition. It is a revolutionized procedure from the old, inadequate perming techniques, we use silicone pads instead of perm rods. It is a great alternative to eyelash extensions, as it requires very little maintenance and has long lasting results.

  1. Who would be a great candidate for Elleebana Lash Lift?
The Elleebana Lash Lift is for clients that are pleased with the length of their natural lashes but want a semi-permanent curled, enhanced mascara look. It is not recommended for chemotherapy clients.

  1. How do I need to prep for the treatment?
PLEASE ARRIVE TO YOUR APPOINTMENT COMPLETELY FREE OF EYE MAKE UP!  Also, you must stop usage of waterproof mascara at least 2 days prior to your Lift! If you wear contacts, it is recommended to have them removed during the session.

  1. How long does Elleebana Lash Lift procedure take?
The procedure takes approximately 45-60 minutes.

  1. How long will a Lash Lift last?
This procedure requires very little maintenance and is perfect for anyone that doesn’t have time for regular upkeep. The Elleebana Lash Lift will last 6-8 weeks, depending on your lash cycle. Please note that lash serums, biotin, and/or medication(s) can affect the lash cycle, resulting in quicker lash shedding.

  1. Does the Lash Lift procedure hurt?
No, the procedure is totally painless. You will have your eyes closed for the entire treatment and although it may feel a little strange being unable to open your eyes for this time, it offers you a chance to relax during the treatment.

  1. Will it damage my natural lashes?
No, the lifting solutions are only applied to the new growth area of the lashes, down towards the base and up a bit. Never to the ends of the lashes.

  1. Who is this procedure NOT good for?
Chronic dry eye, conjunctivitis, damaged lashes or lashes with gaps (this treatment may make the gaps more noticeable), active eye infections of any kind, trichotillomania (habitual pulling out of lashes), recent chemo treatments (you will need to wait at least a year from your last treatment.) When in doubt, always consult with your physician.

Although it is impossible to list every potential risk and complication, the following conditions are recognized as contraindications for the Elleebana Lash Lift and Tint treatment and must be disclosed prior to the treatment:

  • Eye Infections/disorders
  • Recent Eye Surgery
  • Allergy to product
  • Very sensitive eyes
  • Hay fever sufferers/Watery Eyes
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Stye
  • Dry Eye Syndrome
  • Medication – Thyroxin (in some cases can prevent lashes from curling)
  • Contact Lenses – must be removed

  1. Will I have a reaction to the lotion?
Very few people have a reaction to the lotion but that doesn’t mean you won’t be one of them. What one person reacts to, another is fine with. This is why you can opt to have a patch test 24 hours beforehand. A patch test is quick and simple. It consists of us placing 2 drops of lotions behind the ear for 15 minutes. Wiping it off and waiting to see if any subsequent irritation occurs over the next 24 hours such as redness, itching or inflammation for example.

  1. What is the difference between Elleebana Lash Lift and Lash Perm?
The difference is that the lashes are lifted at the root instead of the tip of the lashes, giving the lashes a full complete curl instead of just at the tip.

  1. Is this like lash extensions where they will look dramatically thicker?
Lash extensions and lash lifts are totally different. I will not be adding any additional lashes to you. I will simply be curling your natural lashes, making your lashes appear fuller because they are so uplifted, giving a bright eyed enhanced look.

  1. Can I book this on the same day as my facial?

  1. I have downward-pointing lashes, will this be a good treatment for me?
Yes! Anyone with these types of pesky lashes will love the lash lift! Post treatment, your lashes will be evenly dispersed and lifted.

  1. I have recently had blepharoplasty surgery, can I have this procedure?
You’ll need to wait at least 1 year from your surgery. Most clients who have had this surgery will experience an increased sensitivity in the eye area for quite a while. You need to give yourself that time to heal first. After that, you can consult with your physician to be sure.

  1. I’ve recently had lasik surgery, can I have this procedure?
Yes, but you need to wait at least 6 months. When in doubt, please consult your physician.

  1. Can mascara be applied after the procedure?
Allow 24 hours before applying any type of product to your lashes. After 24 hours, you may apply mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, or any type of makeup products you desire; it will not affect the lashes.

  1. Can I use an eyelash curler?
There will be no need for an eyelash curler as this treatment gives a much better result than using a curler. But more importantly, using one may weaken and damage your lashes.
